AmRest wins Silver Stevie® Award in 2018 International Business Awards

On the 9th of August 2018 AmRest was named the winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the “Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year - in Europe” category in The 15th Annual International Business Awards®. The Company was awarded for the KFC Harvest program - a global initiative aimed at preventing food waste by sharing surplus products with those in need.

The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small - are eligible to submit nominations. The 2018 IBAs received entries from 74 nations and territories.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala awards banquet at the InterContinental London Park Lane Hotel in London, England on 20 October. 
AmRest operates over 1700 restaurants in 16 markets, being a franchisee of global brands such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks and Burger King. In line with company’s CSR strategy based on 4 pillars: Our Food, Our People, Our Community and Our Environment, AmRest has launched a pioneer system approach in Europe to address the problem of food waste on a large scale – KFC Harvest. Harvest is a global initiative aimed at preventing food waste by sharing surplus products with those in need. Unsold food is collected and donated to the local charities.

AmRest supports local communities - KFC Harvest

KFC is the first restaurant brand in Poland that has developed and implemented the program of preventing food waste by sharing surplus products with those in need. Over 200 KFC restaurants in Poland are already in the scheme.

The judges appreciated both the execution of program and the results: in 2017 AmRest has donated over 150 tons of food, which means over 600 000 meals for the needy. As of July 31st KFC restaurants from Poland, Serbia, Hungary, Spain and Bulgaria are in the program.
Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 270 executives worldwide who participated on 12 juries.
